I am friends with my children, who are various ages (23, 19, 17 and 8 and my grandson who is 1). While I am their mom, I brought them up to know their own minds, to make mistakes and find their own answers with total and unconditional love. Our household is run by the consensus process as much as possible (sometimes I do have to pull the Mom card) but open communication is key to how we live together...and yes, we all live together under one roof!
